Nature at the Core of Idealism

This paper claims that the inner drive of discussion leading to philosophical rupture between Fichte and Schelling is problem independence nature. I argue otherwise rich literature on subject, by not engaging with this problem, has led a false dichotomy two equally unsatisfactory possibilities interpretation: (a) Schelling’s misunderstanding Kant’s transcendental method or (b) his overcoming it. On my account, once one engages philosophy nature, it becomes clear he, just as Fichte, exploring tensions philosophy, even though he does in different original direction.
